Have I mentioned lately how much I love my job?? I am a full-time wedding photographer serving New Orleans, the Gulf Coast and Baltimore, Maryland. 2020 was extremely hard on the wedding and events community and so many of us who work full-time in the wedding industry felt the squeeze all throughout last year. The things that kept us going were and are days like this. The day when we get to serve our couples and celebrate in their joy, this moment. in their lives. Couples like Adeepa & Angel.
Adeepa & Angel came to New Orleans to celebrate their engagement and of course wanted to have their engagement photos taken on the streets of New Orleans; this incredible city I get to call home. I worked with Adeepa before her and Angel came down from New York going over game plans, locations and of course giving her allllll my favorite restaurant recommendations! The weather along the Gulf Coast ( when it gets warm) can be a little temperamental. Our weather can change really quickly so we had to be prepared and be flexible in the event of rain. Thankfully, rain was NOT a factor! Adeepa and Angel wanted to rock a sunrise session for one very good reason - they wanted to have their photos taken at the very start of their trip so they could eat all the amazing food! Clearly, these two are couples goals. The morning of their session, it was overcast and super dense with fog, our dreams of an epic sunrise were dashed, but, me being me, I always have a plan B. Before sunrise, we started creating photos with some off-camera lighting into some dramatic portraits and then when the sun was up, we had the most perfect conditions to rock the rest of their session!
I usually shoot sunset sessions in the French Quarter, but, this session has got me having some serious feelings about sunrise sessions for a very good reason; the streets are empty! We had then entire French Quarter to ourselves. I haven't seen this since this time in 2020 during the shutdown. Pro Advice: If you can, wake up early and hit that sunrise session times lot!! It is worth it!
Adeepa and Angel had been dating for about two years when Angel proposed earlier in March of 2021. As soon as he proposed and Adeepa said "yes", they began planning this trip. I LOVE working with couples who are spontaneous and are up for an adventure. Adeepa and Angel, I loved every moment of our time together and can not wait for the day when out paths cross again!
